Monkey Sun in Elko

This place is legit. They have the usual fare, but also very authentic Chinese dishes. I'm Cantonese Chinese and I've grown up eating Chinese food so I'm happy to have found this place. This will be my new favorite place to frequent when I don't feel like cooking or feeling homesick. I had the beef noodle soup and Singapore noodles and they are on point.

This is not a gourmet restaurant, this is a quick service restaurant similar to Panda Express, but it is definitely much better quality than Panda Express and has very reasonable prices and friendly staff. Don't expect this to be a life changing meal, but if you are in the area and craving Chinese food, it's worth the stop.

A little costly for the meats to taste so cheap. Did not enjoy. 😔

Delivery is slow. I ordered online an hour and a half ahead of time in the middle of a week day at a slow time and my food was still half an hour late for one dish and one soup and my location is only 2min away.

Fried rice had no taste & sweet and sour pork was very salty. Mongolian beef sauce was spicy & tasted good but the meat itself was flat tasting.

I was in town for work and noticed this place on the way to the hotel. My favorite thing about Chinese food is vegetables. All the dishes with vegetables. This is a quick style everything cooked and on display kind of place. There are lots of options and the food is decent. My one complaint is that everything I ordered had incredible amounts of soy sauce. It made everything super salty tasting. Make sure you have plenty of water to wash that all down with. If you're a huge fan of soy sauce this is the place for you.

Shockingly good. A lifetime of sad experience has taught us to be wary of Chinese food more than 50 miles from a coast, but we're glad we took the chance. Other reviewers mentioned getting food cooked to order, and when I saw the buffet, I understood. Luckily we're vegetarian, so off the menu was the only way to go. Full of flavor, very fresh veggies. Will definitely stop again.

Very good service

The food might be great, but I wouldn't know. They're closed until Sunday 3/11/18, but the only indication of this is a sign taped to the front door - no notice on the website or telephone.

BUYER BEWARE as other reviews suggest, your order doesn't come with rice. I got chicken with vegetables and some egg drop soup, both were flavorful and good for takeout, not super fancy, but tasty. I ordered for deliver and it only took about 40 minutes to get here on a Monday night but I am SO sad I didn't get rice so a whole star gets knocked off. Should've looked more closely at the bad reviews. Overall worth it but if you want rice ORDER IT SEPARATELY!!!

Easy tasty, fast, inexpensive, friendly service. Can't ask more. Its a simple cafeteria type instead of sit down order style. Visit often.

I have ordered from here several times. Last time a couple things did not make it in my delivery but the food that did was good.

Sweet and sour pork didn't come with sauce...so if you like sauce, here is not for you. BUT I truly enjoyed my general tso chicken and the service was wonderful!

They have Pho, we had the beef soup (Pho)And three entree plate that was really really good.

Best fast Chinese in Elko, maybe even the best period. The owners are very nice and understand good customer service. If you go later in the evening they'll usually make dishes fresg for you, but they're still quick. The prices are excellent as well. Chow mein and/or rice with three items is $6.99. The portions are also quite generous.

The service is always great and they even have boba tea. The prices aren't bad for the area too! Seems a lot cleaner than all the other Chinese places around here as well.

My entree was a little over done. Clean and well maintained interior. Staff was friendly.

Food was large in quantity and even tasted good. Especially I recommend BBQ and steamed fish with greenbeans. I wasn't able to finish the dish because of its abundancy. BBQ is really thick. U should try.

Tasted like the vegetables came from the dumpster behind Albertsons.... probably because I saw the owner digging them out of it.

Great place for a bite.Enjoyed coming here when I was working in Elko, Nevada.Never had a bad experience.Clean establishment. Good presentation, great color, texture and taste, even though food was in styrofoam to go plate.I would frequent here regularly when able.Highly recommend.

I won't normally eat Buffett type service but the cook and staff here are very clean and make deliciously fresh food

This is great chinese food at a reasonable price. I love the shrimp fried rice and crab rangoons. The employees are friendly and helpful. And, they deliver! When I stay at a hotel in Elko, it is so nice to get the food delivered so I don't have to drive somewhere when I'm really tired. If you like chinese I definitely suggest you try Monkey Sun!

So they told me it was gonna be 40 mins for delivery which was fine but an hr and a half was not.. which what ever but then ate the food and wasnt that good so I suggest to find somewhere else

They serve home-made Chinese food in the middle of no other choices. Accolade to them to prepare so many varieties. You can't compare them to the Chinese restaurants in big cities. Keep your fingers crossed that they will stay and continue to serve the community and travelers.

Best Asian food in Elko! Giant portions for the price. Cute atmosphere and good service.

It's a bit confusing when you first walk in. So if you don't know what you want before you get there then expect to feel uncomfortable and awkward. However, the food is quite good!! I'll usually eat there at least once ever time I visit Elko.

This is where Asian tourists stop to eat. The food is very good and reasonably priced. If you ask, they will make your order fresh. Always great service!

Food was good for Elko. Ordered to go, walked back to hotel and it was still hot. Very friendly employees. I was there 30 minutes before close and they made fresh what I wanted that they were out of. Good quantity for price payed. 11 dollars and I was fulfilled.

I love this place my only complaint is it takes a little long to cook food sometimes however the prices are fair the food is pretty good the staff is really friendly I'm very happy with this place

Great food! Stopped here driving through Nevada. 15 minutes for a custom order, but also have ready made food available. Had the Vegetable Egg Foo Yung and Vegetable Chow Mein and both were delicious! Made sure to stop here again on our way back

It was ok. The restaraunt was cold. And the food was ok. Id eat there again.

If you are from any big city in the US, this place will shock you. White rice is NOT included with your dinner. Never heard of brown rice. Never heard of crispy beef. Steamed dumplings are frowned upon. I am from the Washington DC area. This place claims to be one of the top 100 chinChi restaurants in the US. Will update this review if food is exceptional. Otherwise very disappointed. Better off buying PF Chang's from the grocery store. Out of towners be ware!

Food here is amazing! The place isn’t very clean so I recommend getting ur food to go but it’s very inexpensive and sooooo good!
